My journey with Quantek Systems actually started years ago. I grew up in Bend, OR, where Quantek Systems is headquartered. Because it’s a relatively small town with an even smaller circle of tech companies, I had crossed paths with Gabe a few times. We had talked about the company he was building, and even back then, his excitement and vision for innovation were infectious.
Last year, our paths crossed again, and the timing was right for both of us. I had the opportunity to join his team and help build the product he had been steadily growing. There were many reasons why Quantek Systems stood out as the next step in my career, but I’ll keep it brief and highlight the most important ones.
One of the recurring themes Gabe had described to me over the years was how far behind many subsectors of the healthcare industry were in adopting modern technology. Similar to what you see in large corporations, many healthcare organizations tend to be slow to change, even when better alternatives exist. After working in tech for several years, I was shocked to learn that some clinics still rely on pen and paper or physical whiteboards for day-to-day operations. I was equally surprised that standard interoperability between service providers wasn’t commonplace until it was mandated. The inefficiencies in this space were staggering, and the opportunity to improve workflows, save clinics time and money, and ultimately enhance patient care was obvious. Given Gabe’s unique experience in identifying these challenges, I was eager to help build the solutions that would bridge these gaps.
Like most developers, I want my work to be meaningful. There’s something incredibly fulfilling about writing code that directly improves people’s lives—and what better industry for that impact than healthcare? The products we’re building at Quantek Systems will make a difference at every level of the clinics we serve, from large hospital administrations to small independent practices, all the way to the patients receiving care. Our software will save time and reduce costs. It will highlight operational bottlenecks and provide the data needed to eliminate them. Taken as a whole, our platform will contribute to better patient care. Being part of that mission is a huge reason why I wanted to work at Quantek Systems.
Finally, the team here is exceptional. Everyone is driven by the same goals, and working alongside such a passionate and talented group has been an incredible experience. I’m excited to continue growing with this team in the years to come and to see how far we can push innovation in this space.
