Madison Area Recommendations
I have lived in the Madison area for 10 years and I am excited to help host the chapter attendees in my home town! If you have some free time in to spend in Madison, here are some of my favorites for you to check out not too far from campus.
- Take a walk along the John Nolen path for beautiful views and a crisp breeze off of Lake Monona.
- For the best artisan cheese Wisconsin has to offer, stop at Fromagination, at 12 South Carroll Street just off of State Street.
- Foodies love Madison and Madison loves Foodies! The Night Out at Coopers Tavern will NOT disappoint. If you’re looking for food before or another drink stop before tucking in, you can’t go wrong near the capitol building. Marigold Kitchen for breakfast, Graze for lunch, The Old Fashioned for Dinner, cheese curds, and, of course, an Old Fashioned! Eno Vino offers excellent wine, food, and a 10th story view of the capitol.
- The Chazen Museum of Art, Olbrich Botanical Gardens, and Henry Vilas Zoo are all worth a visit.
- In my opinion, a walk through the capitol building is so underrated. In addition to beautiful architecture, artwork, and landscaping, the dome on the capitol is the only granite dome in the United States.
See you all at Coopers Tavern and the Memorial Union!
